And what about the markings on the elephants? is this natural? I thought they were either albinos, or drak greay, not that shade of grey/pink?

They have about 80-90 elephants, some of them are old, injured or "retired". Probably the place is the best possible for these poor animals. I don't know why some of them had pink colour, could it be old sun burns...

Definitely seems like a good place. And tourism certainly helps with providing for them :)

There were restaurants... some were eating or having drinks, I focused on elephants - okay, I admit that I had one Lion beer too.

I don't know why they have chains but I assume some elephants are chained time to time to avoid fights
