I was really amazed when I noticed new footprints in the island. I had no idea that
Roe Deer could be found this far north at all! I've seen them earlier in the southern Finland, so the species is familiar to me, but here!!! I suppose, deer must be even more difficult to see in the forest than a bear.
Today when I was sneaking in the "southern" island with my camera, I heard some voices. I must say that the lady with a berry basket was even more surprised when I appeared with my camera from the bushes than I was. There aren't that many people wandering around those islands! I told her that I was just looking for the bear and wished her luck with berries. Well, at least she left MY berries untouched and rowed away, heh heh!
I took a picture of the Roe Deer's footprint. The scale is so ugly that I'll hide the picture under LJ cut...
