One day in Ireland when I was taking my beauty nap in the cottage women came rumbling in and yelled:

BTW. This was the painters' journey (if you didn't figure out that...) :)

Ten days in Ireland and I'm badly addicted. Luckily, my boss understands problems of this kind and pays my rehabilitation trip to Molly Malone's in Helsinki. Meet you there if you happen to be around tomorrow evening.

I'm attracted with heights. Mount Seefin was not such a big challenge as Mount Kinabalu was but of course I HAD TO climb up there. By chance the sun decided to climb up to the cloudless sky at the same time when me and my faithful sherpa climbed up to the peak. Two sweaty hours up and one back down.

Ten days in Ireland! Seven days in the southern part of the island in Kerry and three days drive through the lovely, fascinating and fabulous countryside from Dublin to Kerry along the eastern coast and western coast back to the capital city. These pictures give you a pale hunch about the atmosphere around the "sheep cottages" we had rented.

While I'm in Ireland you can watch these photos from my previous Ireland tour 2006...

19th-Jan-2008 01:44 am - Another Irish tower

This is the tower of Saint Brigid's Cathedral from Ireland. Unlike most of the Irish church clock towers this one had an open door and you could climb up by ladders to the top. The small cabin in front of the tower was "a ticket office". The ticket seller was obviously amazed when he heard that we came from Finland. The very first Finns according to his memory! When we had bought our tickets he continued to listen the football game on the radio...

I just received a confirmation concerning the place where I will stay during my holidays next June. Or do I dare to expose that I'm not going alone? Nope, I have company and not just one but six and they are all WOMEN! Call me crazy and you are so right but don't be afraid, I'm not a part of some mysterious cult which allows 6 wives, they are all my friends. Our combining cause is painting. As you may remember I'm a lousy hobby painter. My friends and I decided to make a lightly different painting course next summer and Ireland seems to be just the most interesting place for that purpose.

The place is in southern Ireland and it's an old farmhouse. It's situated on a hilltop near lake and it's only 3 kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean. The view is picturesque and I'm sure we will enjoy the place. The place is ideal for painters!

If you are interested in seeing what kind of place I'm talking to, this LINK will take you there.

Now it's all arranged and I will return to Ireland next June. I booked flights, rented a car and a house. I'm so excited...

One week in Ireland went so fast. What a beautiful country, friendly people, crazy wrong side traffic, sheeps, green valleys, high cliffs, rain and sun shine. A lot of things to see, hear and taste. And yet so happy to be back home. Home sweet home.
